Heat treatment is a metal thermal processing process that is used in many mold steels at present. This processing process can mainly obtain the expected structure and function through heating, heat preservation, cooling and other methods. And metal mold steel is no exception, it needs to be heat treated. However, in the process of heat treatment, great attention is paid to the control of its temperature. So do you know how to control the heat treatment temperature of metal mold steel? Let's introduce the control of quenching and tempering temperature:
1. When the DC53 metal mold steel is quenched at the highest quenching temperature, that is, 1040 °C, its machinability and grindability will be better, and the residual stress of the electro-processed metamorphic layer is small, the residual austenite is very small, and the carbonization things are subtle. Especially after high temperature tempering at 520~530℃, the hardness HRC can reach 62~63.
2. In general, after properly adjusting the quenching temperature of DC53 metal mold steel, the functions obtained will be different. For example, when tempered at 200 °C, the hardness and impact resistance are relatively high; when tempered at 400 to 500 °C, the hardness is high, and the resistance is greatly reduced; when tempered at 600 °C, the impact resistance is high, and the hardness is significantly reduced.
3. In the heat treatment process of DC53 metal mold steel, if it is found that it is a tool such as a precision die, a trimming die, a cold roll wheel, etc., a low temperature tempering process should be used. Due to the low temperature tempering process, the working parts of the mold can obtain high hardness, high resistance, good wear resistance, and high strength, and can effectively prolong the life of the mold, so as to avoid excessive wear, deformation, cracking and other early failure phenomena of the mold.
